Book Review: Never Let Me Go - 4.5 Stars

"Maybe it was to do with that room, the way the sun came in through the frosted glass so that even in early summer, it felt like autumn light."

This is the first book I have read by Kazuo Ishiguro, Nobel Prize Winner, and let me just say, this is beautifully written.  I came across this one night while I was flipping through streaming apps and saw the movie version advertised. The description noted that it was based on a book so I had to read it first. I have not seen the movie yet but I cannot imagine how the movie could capture what this book has so deeply. This story is filled with understanding, friendships, loss and love.  The detail the author goes in when describing everyday conversations....superb.  The writing helps you get to know the characters inside and out. I am not giving this 5 stars only because it took me a while to get into the story. For some reason, I kept reading then stopping for a couple weeks, and so on.  But once I committed to it, I was hooked.
