"What you read will taste so bad at times, you'll want to spit it out, but you'll swallow these words and they will become part of you, part of your gut, and you will hurt because of them."

Lowen, a struggling writer on the brink of bankruptcy, has an interesting morning, to say the least.  Her first time out of her apartment after her mom passed away, she witnesses a tragic accident on her way to a meeting.  When a handsome stranger reaches out to help her, she finds herself drawn to him, and she isn't sure why.    Of course, he would be the person she is meeting with.  Jeremy Crawford, husband of Verity Crawford, a famous novelist, hires Lowen to complete 3 books out of a famous series.  His wife is injured and unable to continue them.   Lowen travels to their estate and dives deep into research and notes left in her office.  She gets more than she bargained for when she uncovers a chilling autobiography of Verity's.  Now she must choose to divulge her secrets or keep them.

Wow.  This one had me fooled.  There were some things I picked up on pretty quickly but I was not expecting that ending. This story was dark and twisted and intense.  If left me feeling a little empty and exhausted (in a good way).  I ran through all of the emotions... sorrow, pain, hurt, anger, excitement, fear... Yep, this book left my mouth gaping wide open several times.

Read.  Book.  Now.
