Book Review: The Housemaid (#1) - 4 Stars

"I could just barely make out the word he said. Pericolo.  Whatever that means."

Millie, an ex con who is just trying to survive, takes a job as a maid for a well to do family.  The husband, Andy, handsome and considerate; the wife Nina, crazy... like was in a mental institution crazy; and the daughter Cecelia, a brat.  Things should go well, as long as she keeps her head down and does her job.  But... things are not always what they seem.

This book was great.  The story line was clever, it had me guessing.  This was dark, twisted and had a splash of a love triangle.  What more does a gal need?  About 64 pages in, I was already thinking.... what are you still doing there?? This woman is crae... Millie needs to run.  Flipping burgers would be better than this.

I enjoyed the switching between the characters' perspectives.  I didn't bother to look ahead in this book so I wasn't aware there was a Part II.  When I got to that.... whoa.  I did not see that coming.  Brilliant storyline and twist!

 Read it.
